Mónica de Oriol

Founder and President
Entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience, Mónica holds a degree in Business and Economics from Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), and a degree in European Union Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE), with additional post-graduate courses on Management and Finance at the Harvard Business School, ESADE and Instituto de Empresa (IE). Founder and Executive President of Seguriber Group, Net4Things and Campamento Castillo de Layos, Mónica is also active in a number of think tanks, as former president of Círculo de Empresarios, member of Fundación Rafael del Pino, Deusto Business School and YPO Gold Madrid chapter chairwoman. She has also been a non-executive member on a number of Boards of Directors, including INDRA from 2008 to 2015.

Joaquín García-Baquero

CEO - Chief Executive Officer
Serial entrepreneur with ample experience in the technology sector, Joaquín holds an Industrial Engineering degree and a number of post-graduate studies in International Business Management and Internet Business Models at Wharton School, ISDI, ESADE and EDEM. Joaquín pioneered the connected car/fleet management space with the startup of several technology companies, including Palmanet and Localizza, the latter being acquired by Seguriber in 2008. Joaquín became Corporate General Manager of Seguriber Teknia and, after 4 years, joined Net4Things in 2011 as CEO. He is active in several Spanish innovation activities, including his position as Startup Board member at Enagás, the utility company.

Carlos Moya

COO – Chief Operating Officer
Computer Science Engineer (#1 rank) and Master in Software Architecture (with honours), Carlos built a strong technical background at Ericsson in his 8 years as Solution Architect, Program and Service Delivery management positions, becoming the youngest Program Manager worldwide at the age of 28 (Orange Group account). He became part of the Global Rapid High Potential talent pool one year later, being recognized by Ericsson as one of the 250 most talented employees early in his career with potential to reach executive positions within a short period of time. At the age of 30, pursuing new challenges, he joined Net4Things to lead the Service Delivery team.

César Gómez

CTO – Chief Technology Officer
Telecommunication Engineer with extensive expertise in the creation and development of business solutions with the latest state-of-the-art IoT technology and software development methodologies. César has worked for Iberia, Deloitte, Typsa and Madrid Polytechnic University in different roles, from R&D to business development. César has also taken an active role in driving internal innovation projects (including public-private financing). Thanks to this differential business-technological background, César has developed a unique view on how to build and operate service platforms for complex organizations facing massive interactions with their end-customers.

Fran Rodríguez

CRO – Chief Revenue Officer
With a degree in Aeronautics by EIA (Spain) and a specialist in Aerodynamics and Power&Engine (Pratt&Whitney), Fran also holds two MBAs (IE-Instituto de Empresa and IESE) and is widely recognized as a successful entrepreneur in the telco market. He boasts more than 25 years of managerial experience with telecommunication equipment and global mobile service providers. Fran has founded several successful companies, like Landata/Lanmóvil (part of the IBV Group), and Dominion (listed). Fran is also active as executive and non-executive board member and shareholder in companies belonging to different sectors, such as Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Wholesalers, Software development and Consulting.

Isla Ramos

Isla Ramos Chaves was born in Granada and studied between Spain and the UK. She holds a Business Management degree from Universidad Complutense and an MBA from ESADE. She has 20+ years of experience in the IT sector in companies like IBM and Lenovo, where she has been General Manager for Spain and Portugal and Executive Director for Business Transformation for Lenovo Europe, Middle East and Africa. She has more than 10 years of experience in large business transformations, including digital business optimization and post-merger management. Her areas of specialization are Transformation and International management. She has a passion for the not-for-profit and education sectors, and today she is Deputy CEO for Save the Children. She still remains very connected to the IT sector as VP of the Business Innovation & Tech Club at Business School ESADE and a teacher and lecturer in several business schools. Isla has been a board member of the publicly held company EZENTIS along with Save the Children.

Carlos Severino

Carlos is a strategy consulting partner at EY-Parthenon, head of the Spanish TMT and Digital practices. With over 20 years of experience in the strategy consulting field in companies such as Strategy&, Booz&Company, Oliver Wyman, Diamond Cluster and Europraxis, he has relevant expertise in complex turn-around processes, post-merger integrations, performance improvement programs and launch of startups and new business models. Carlos is also actively participating in the startup ecosystem as investor, founder, advisor and board member in several startups of multiple sectors, including mobility, transportation, retail & consumer, collaborative economy, education, clothing, marketing and technology. He is advising startups in a number of technology implementations such as connectivity, big data, AI and automatization.

Bernardo Hernández

Bernardo is a graduate of ICADE, Pontifical University of Comillas. He received a master’s degree in finance from Boston College and holds the chartered financial analyst (CFA) certification. At the age of 29, after five years as an analyst and portfolio manager in the asset management industry with companies like Fidelity Investments, BBVA, and Putnam Investments, Bernardo started his first internet venture,, now the leading real estate site in Spain. Since then, he has participated as an angel investor in other online startups such as Tuenti,, Glovo, Fever, Wallapop, Verse, and In May 2011, he was appointed to the jury of the Princess of Asturias awards of science and technology where he served for 7 years. Bernardo joined Google in 2005, where he held various positions in the marketing and product organizations. While at Google, he led the acquisition of Zagat and ran the Zagat team until departing Google in May 2013. Bernardo was also the head of Flickr at Yahoo! until May 2015. He is currently a venture partner at the early-stage technology funds at, and CEO and President of the startup Verse Payments. He is a member of the board of directors at Mapfre USA in Boston and a Senior advisor for PWC in Spain.

José Luis López-Schummer

José Luis is an expert in the automotive market. His professional career started in 1983 working for Arthur Andersen & Co. Since 1988 he has worked for the Daimler Group where he has successfully performed different jobs. He developed the Spanish dealer network, managed the truck and passenger car division in Spain, headed worldwide sales for the van division at HQ, and between 2009-2016 served as President and CEO of Mercedes Benz Spain. He is currently CRO for the Iberian Peninsula and LATAM, and Vice-president for Daimler Financial Services in Spain. He is a former president of ANFAC and the German Chamber of Commerce.

Luis Álvarez

Luis Alvarez Satorre is CEO of SIA Group, an Indra Company. He is also Chairman of Islalink, a submarine cable company. He has spent over 30 years in leadership roles. Ex-CEO of BT Global Services, a global telecommunications leader, he has previously worked for Ericsson, IBM and Santander Group. Working in a changing sector driven by the forces of digital technologies has allowed him to connect with business leaders from many companies around the world. He is author of Amazon Best Seller, “Becoming a 3DCEO”, a book about what it takes to be a CEO in the digital age. As a digital advisor, Luis is supporting companies with their growth and development agendas, where digital technologies are transforming their businesses. He is also an active investor in startups across a number of sectors. A passionate engineer, Luis graduated with a Masters in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidad Politécnica, Madrid. He completed his business education at Tuck University, IMD and ESADE.

Roberto Saint-Malo

Roberto is managing partner of BetaAngels Management. He has focused on sourcing, executing, and managing PE and VC investments since 1995. In 2011 he founded BetaAngels, an investor group formed by accomplished company builders and professional investors, currently active in Europe, Israel and the US. Earlier, in 2002, he co-founded Spanish VC firm Adara Ventures, serving as managing partner until 2010. Roberto is a graduate of Dartmouth College (BA Computer Science with Summa Cum Laude honors) and Harvard University (MBA).
